Senior Pastor, Robert Carter

God led our family to South Point First Church in August 2013.  We are so excited to be a part of what God is accomplishing at this great church.  My education includes a Th.B from God’s Bible School and College and a MSM from Indiana Wesleyan University.  I am an ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene.  Before coming to South Point, my family served on the Indianapolis District for 8 years.

Carrie and I were married in 1996, and we have two boys, Brennan (19) and Jared (16).  Brennan is a pre-law student at Olivet Nazarene University, while Jared attends the local public high school. Jared is an avid runner and loves being part of the Cross Country and Track teams. Both boys love watching football and basketball, and between the two of them, can eat their family’s combined weight in pizza.

We believe that the lifestyle we model as a family has a greater impact on our church family than the words we say.  So it is our goal to model surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, integrity in our words and actions, a Kingdom lifestyle, balance between ministry demands and family life, and genuine commitment to the people to whom God has called us.  We believe that we can only minister to others to the extent that we ourselves have experienced God’s transforming power.  We believe that the ministry of the Word is central to the life of the Church; and we are confident that the anointing of the Holy Spirit is the difference-maker in the impact that any song, prayer, or sermon may carry.  Finally, we believe that God is pleased to use servants who know that they cannot “do” ministry without His empowering.

Assistant Pastor, Jerry Boggs

Jerry and Joyce Boggs

We are excited to have been a part of South Point First Church of the Nazarene since 1982.  I have had the privilege of working alongside several of the SPF Senior Pastors in various support roles.  I graduated in 1985 from the West Virginia satellite of Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene that same year.  My wife, Joyce, and I have been married since 1970 and have always built our marriage around God and church ministry.  We enjoy horses, other animals and country living as well as being active in singing and preaching, not only at our home church, but in the surrounding Nazarene churches as the need arises.  We believe that the clergy is here to equip the Church to serve God.
